Dr. Danny R. Hermanus, DIT, Ph.D., is a seasoned senior network and security engineer with over three decades of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructures. He has led high-impact deployments across diverse industries, including TV and church broadcasting, mining, startups, healthcare, streaming services, IPTV providers, large mining sites, startup gaming companies, wireless ISPs, government contractors, and manufacturing firms.
His expertise spans legacy and modern systems, from IBM AS/400 and Novell NetWare to Windows Servers, Linux, Unix, big data platforms, and data lakehouse architecture. Drawing from this extensive background as a senior network and security engineer—with a doctorate in Information Technology and a wealth of practical deployments under his belt—he has witnessed and shaped the shift from reactive defenses to proactive, strategic architectures. Dr. Hermanus is passionate about bridging theory and practice, sharing field-tested insights to empower the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
Currently Senior Security Engineer at Cambro Manufacturing, he builds enterprise security aligned with NIST CSF, SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001. He architects redundant, high-performance, multi-segmented VLAN environments using Fortinet Ecosystem, Microsoft Entra and Intune Endpoint Management, Rapid7 MDR, Absolute Resilience. Manufacturing security experience spans 15 years across Arlon Graphics, DCX-CHOL Enterprises, and more.
He holds a Doctor of Information Technology from Walden University, Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Master's International University of Divinity, master's in Network Architecture from Capella University, and bachelor's in computer engineering from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS).
Alongside his technology calling, Dr. Hermanus is an IT and Christian author, ministry leader, and technology professional whose life and work have been shaped by a deep commitment to Jesus Christ, the authority of Scripture, and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit.
In ministry, he has served in preaching, healing prayer, care leadership, and church-based discipleship, including City Blessing Churches in California.
Personal: Residing in Los Angeles, California, with his lovely wife, Rima, Dr. Hermanus cherishes family time above all. He enjoys spending quality moments with his three children—Kezia (married to Adriel), Gerrit (married to Abigail), and Samuel (married to Thezia) — and their three grandchildren: Zane, Melody, and Seth. In his free time, he stays active by playing badminton, pickleball, online chess, and guitar, as well as learning how to draw.
